Detailed information

This was Dick's first quartz watch which he bought in the 1970's for $200 (after a discount of $50).
The first Seiko Chronograph was introduced in 1964 for the Tokyo Olympics.  The first quartz watch (commercially available) in the world was the Seiko Quartz Astron 35SQ, introuduced on Christmas Day 1969, and cost $1,250.  Dick was shown one of them by Bill Todman of Goodson-Todman Productions.
Prior to the quartz watch, the watch considered the most accurate was the "tuning fork" watch, the Bulova Accutron, first introduced in 1960 as the Accutron 214.
