From CES 1997, the TA-2000 had a motion-detection sensor at the front of the telephone, so that if an intruder walked past it, it would play a pre-recorded message, and dial to a telephone number to alert the designated person who could activate a two-way speakerphone.The telephone could be adapted to use different sensors, such as a smoke detector.
