Full spectrum light resembles natural light.  This Verilux Full Spectrum Book & Travel Light is powered by 2 AA batteries which can last for 17 hours.  A USB port, with cable provided, means that you can use it with rechargeable batteries along with your laptop.  The Cold Cathode bulb used in the light never needs replacing, and there's no heat from the bulb.
