Short info

We delve into Dick's Classic Gadget Warehouse and dig up the Eumig Phonomat - an 8mm film projector with a unique audio track and Dick tells the story of one of the most elaborate pranks of all time.

Detailed information

All the way back from 1957, this Eumig P8 Phonomat Projector allowed you to add and synchronise sound to your 8mm film.  The website at http://www.marriottworld.com/pieces/pieces25.htm has a history of these projectors.  The pictures below are of a slightly later model, the P8M.

Dick's Home Movies

Dick made home movies which were take-offs of "How the West was Won" and "42nd Street", starring Match Game guests, Kitty Carlisle, Bennett Cerf, Henry Morgan, Gene Rayburn, Peggy Cass.  They went the whole hog with a black tie world premiere, a newspaper review by Dorothy Kilgallen, a helicopter, 1930s limosines.  Listen to Dick's wild stories.

What's My Line

Dick also worked for What's My Line, and still has the mask of Arlene Francis on the show.
