Back when inline skating was popular, the Rollometer kept track of your speed (up to 45 mph) and distance.  It also had a clock and a timer.  Dick first came across it in the Atlanta Sports Show.  It carried a warning: NEVER MAINTAIN A FIXED STARE ON THIS DEVICE!

Hammacher-Schlemmer now has a similar idea for inline skating (right) - the Skate Speedometer.  You replace one of the wheels on your skate with the special wheel which measures your speed and sends the data wirelessly to the watch which you wear while skating.
