Detailed information
Link: Zune
The 2nd generation of Microsoft's Zune players. They come in 4GB, 8GB (flash based) and 80GB (hard drive). The controls are on the "Squircle" which has touch control functions similar to the iPod's click wheel. The user interface has been improved, and they finally support podcasts. The wifi on the Zunes can now be used for sync-ing. Like the old Zunes, they do not support Microsoft's Plays For Sure DRM. Nor do they support audible books. The designs are now much slimmer than before. The flash based Zunes are 41.4 mm x 91.5 mm x 8.5 mm, and the 80GB model is 61.1 mm x 108.2 mm x 12.9 mm.The Zune Tattoo Guy ...
... Steven Smith is changing his name to "Microsoft Zune".
The Squircle
Leo reads a letter from an 11-year-old April, who has received a new Zune from her father, instead of the iPod nano. She's written to Leo in response to, not DGW, but Windows Weekly Episode 40. Leo is berated for making adverse comments on the squircle.
