Short info

We return to Dick's Classic Gadget Warehouse, where we find the first Motorola StarTac cell phone!

Detailed information

Introduced in 1996 at CES, the StarTAC was the first phone with a full clam-shell design.  It had a vibration mode, and worked with an optional Lithium-ion battery which gave it a much longer battery life.  One of the smallest phones at the time, with a smart key pad, red LEDs.  Considered a major breakthrough at the time.

Did you know?

Dick was one of the first people to use the StarTac on TV, when he called live from Las Vegas to Charlie Gibson on the set in New York.
