Not a gadget, not even software for your computer, but a free web service. If you have a long URL you need to make available to others, go to ShrinkMyLink, paste the long URL in the box and just press "Shrink!" to get your short URL which you can copy to the clipboard for use elsewhere.Other similar sites include TinyURL and snipit.info.
